Tips & Tricks
- #21 No one cares when you show up to class in your PJs...welcome to college.
- #20 Don't take peer pressure. Live your own life.
- #19 Show the same respect to your peers as they do for you...even if that means attending your class when you already presented your speech.
- #18 Expect to share the food you have with friends. Nothing is off limits when they are hungry at 3am.
- #17 Expect to meet new friends in weird ways.
- #16 Wai til after classes start to buy your books. Some profs change their minds on what to teach from.
- #15 Use RateMyProfessors...it will help you in the end.
- #14 Go to office hours.
- #13 Don't procrastinate!
- #12 Don't expect too much of the food from the dining commons.
- #11 Speak up in class, participate...the teacher will ask the harder questions later to people who don't contribute.
- #10 Don't write essays that bore you...it will bore the teacher too.
- #9 When the dorms are empty on the weekends, some people have full on ninja fights in the hallways (outfits included).
- #8 Nilla wafers and a tub of whipped cream = yum :)
- #7 Don't skip classes if you don't have to. That's what Furlough days are for.
- #6 Volunteer to be one of the first in you class if you have to give a speech or presentation...Then you can relax once you have gotten it over with.
- #5 Don't do laundry on Thursday afternoon. Everyone is in there trying to get clean clothes for party night and weekends.
- #4 Everytime any of your teachers mentions an assignment, write it in your planner!
- #3 Add fun events to your calendar, not just homework...You'll meet new people and just get your mind off of academics temporarily
- #2 Don't bother to bring your high school shirts to college...
- #1 Ride public transportation...it's not as bad as it may seem, just make sure you stick with a friend
